Burgos

Last weekend, we went to a city called Burgos which is north of Madrid. It was an AWESOME city. So beautiful and charming. We saw the cathedral, the castle, and the wall. The cathedral is where the Cid is buried. Adam and both became intrigued with the story of "El Cid." If you don't know the story, check it out.
Anyway, the real reason why I loved this town was because the shopping was amazing. So many great stores and so easy to walk around. There was one shoe store in particular that I loved so much I asked Adam to take a picture of me in front of it. He laughed when I first asked him to take my photo after I had been staring at all the shoes in the window for about 30 mins. Then he realized I was serious. Some of the most beautiful shoes I have EVER seen are in that store! I was lucky because all their boots were 50% off that day so of course I snagged a pair.
On the way home we drove through the country and stopped at 3 different "pueblos." The drive was scenic and reminded us of southern Utah believe it or not. The first town was very old. The Cathedral there was dated back to the late 900's! The next town we ate a disgusting restaurant and so it was kind of a buzz kill. I hate paying for bad food. Overall we had a wonderful weekend. Even Adam's co-workers here in Madrid commented that he seemed more relaxed.

El Escorial

A couple weekends ago, we went to a place called "El Escorial" It is a beautiful palace in the mountains northwest of Madrid. It was a much needed break from the city. We found an outdoor "gym." Adam was testing out all the workout contraptions. We see a lot of these around Spain. We happen to think they are a pretty good idea!

4 Months Old

Another month goes by.
It's going way too fast.
She is still sweet as can be.
Loves to sleep in, and loves to be held... always.
As of this weekend, however, I have sensed her wanting to move and explore.

Madrid Parks...

are the BEST!!!! Yeah know how sometimes you take kids to a park, but they don't really play and they say they are bored? That happens sometimes to me anyway. Well the parks here are so much fun, even I want to play on some of the toys! It has been rainy rainy rainy here. So last weekend we spent most of our time out doors. We went to Parque del Retiro and it was such a wonderful cultural experience. The park was full of families, music, food and cute doggies. It was one our best days in Spain so far.
